Our Story

The Breakfast Stop is owned and operated by Wayne and Brenda Moore.

This is our first restaurant venture but we have experience in home-cooking and hospitality as we owned and ran a successful bed and breakfast for eight years.

We bring our experience and some of our guests’ favorite recipes to this new adventure! We have been abundantly blessed and feel God has directed us to take on this challenge. We hope our “people first” philosophy, along with good food that is lovingly prepared and served, will be winning ingredients for The Breakfast Stop. Let us know ANYTHING we can do to improve on this!

Wayne was born in Bonham but was raised and spent most of his adult life in Arlington, Texas. His achievements include service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, retiring from the City of Arlington having served as a professional fire fighter and city administrator, and being a great father to two amazing daughters (who have produced four amazing grandchildren).

Brenda was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri and became a Texas transplant when she enrolled and completed her BSW degree for TCU (go Horned Frogs!!). She received her MSW and Ph.D. in Social Work from UTA. She has been a full-time college professor at Texas A&M-Commerce since 1993.

We began our marriage in Bonham in 1991 and have been in love with each other and this community ever since. We have been active in the community (see Wayne’s “Hall of Fame” memorabilia in the hallway!) and are members of the First United Methodist Church.
